During the past years, the Mandolin-Orchestra Niederkassel has developed more and more towards a symphonic plucked string orchestra. The inexhaustible engagement of our conductor Richard Neff has considerably contributed to this development. His vision reached far beyond the original plucked sting music and he transferred each musical skill of younger and elder orchestra members into additional instrumental parts and revised orchestra scores.

By this, orchestra scores were created graduatelly, which complemented and accompanied the original plucked music. This harmonic living and working together in the orchestra is continued among the members. The priority of our music is the pleasure of playing music together and friendly relations among the members.

From their early age on many members have learned from the elder orchestra members and are placed beside them in an equal manner in the orchestra today. The orchestra society is proud of having a functioning generations project that comprises three generations; the large music family.
